About VSCO
For years, we've helped photographers create their work. Now we're building what comes next.
VSCO exists for photographers. Not as a side feature, not as an afterthought, but as the whole point. We build the connected system photographers rely on, and we've spent over a decade earning the trust of a global creative community that takes the craft seriously.
Photography is at an inflection point. AI is reshaping what's possible for creative work, and that's where our mission shines. VSCO is building the full photographer's workflow: from creating and editing your work, to delivering it to clients, to running your business. All of it built thoughtfully, with photographers leading the way. We believe the future of photography tools creates more space for creativity, handling the busy work so photographers can focus on the craft.
If you care about craft, community, and what technology can unlock for creative people, this is the work. We're a mission-driven and focused company where your work ships quickly, is meaningful, and reaches tens of millions of people worldwide. You'll have a real say in what we build and how we build it. We hire people who don't wait to be asked, naturally connect the dots, care about the quality of what they ship, and believe the best outcomes come from building together.
About the Role
We're looking for a pragmatic, business-minded attorney to join VSCO's Legal team as our Senior Counsel, Commercial & Product.
Reporting directly to the General Counsel, you'll play a critical role in helping the business move quickly and thoughtfully by partnering across Product, Engineering, Marketing, Brand, Finance, and Operations.
This role is ideal for someone with a strong commercial contracting foundation who enjoys working closely with cross-functional teams and wants to continue expanding their experience across product counseling, privacy, and strategic legal partnership. You'll have meaningful ownership from day one while helping scale a modern legal function at a company building the future of photography and creativity.

- Drive contract workflows from intake through signature while balancing legal risk with business priorities.
- Improve templates, playbooks, and contracting processes to help legal scale efficiently.
Product & Marketing Partnership
- Partner with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Brand, and Design teams to provide practical legal guidance throughout product development and go-to-market initiatives.
- Review product launches, marketing campaigns, promotions, and partnerships to help teams move forward with confidence.
- Advise on content policy and IP matters (trademarks, copyrights, and patents).
- Translate legal considerations into practical business recommendations.
Privacy & Regulatory Support
- Provide day-to-day guidance on privacy and data protection matters with support from the General Counsel and outside counsel as needed.
- Continue building expertise across evolving privacy, AI, and platform regulations.
- Help monitor legal developments and translate them into actionable guidance for the business.
Strategic Initiatives
- Support and partner closely with the General Counsel on strategic initiatives and day-to-day legal matters across the business.
- Help improve legal operations, contracting workflows, documentation, and use of AI-enabled tools.
- Develop practical resources and training that empower business teams to navigate legal considerations independently with legal oversight.
Qualifications
- J.D. and active U.S. bar membership.
- Approximately 5+ years of legal experience in-house, at a law firm, or a combination of both.
- Strong commercial contracting experience with excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
- Experience partnering with cross-functional business teams in a practical, business-focused way.
- Working knowledge of privacy and data protection principles, with an interest in continuing to deepen expertise.
- Excellent judgment, communication skills that are more business-oriented, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, growth environment.
- Strong curiosity, drive, ownership, and a collaborative mindset.
