Growth Engineer - React
Teya
Company Description
Hello! We're Teya.
Teya is a payment and software service provider, headquartered in London serving small, local businesses across Europe. Founded in 2019, we build easy to use, integrated tools that enable our members to accept payments and boost business performance.
At Teya we believe small, local businesses are the lifeblood of our communities.
We’re here because we don’t believe there’s a level playing field that gives small businesses with a fighting chance against the giants of the high street.
We’re here because we see banks and legacy service providers making things harder for them. We don’t think the best technology or the best service should be reserved for those with the biggest headquarters.
We’re here to fight for a future where small, local businesses can thrive, and to commit the same dedication they offer all of us.
Become a part of our story.
We’re looking for exceptional talent to join our mission. We offer a chance to create impact in a high-energy and connected culture, while benefiting from continuous learning opportunities, a supportive community which is proud to serve our mission, and comprehensive benefits.
Job Description
Mission:
We’re looking for an ambitious person to operate at the intersection of full-stack web engineering, product, and marketing. You’ll join our lean Growth Product team to make our website, customer acquisition flows and ad technology industry-leading. If executed well, this team will deliver millions of incremental revenue and be at the forefront of expansion into new European markets.
Your Role
Your work will span React for our website and internal tools, JavaScript libraries for data collection, backend logic to handle e-commerce transactions and ad platform APIs, Playwright testing, and analysis in Amplitude.
You’ll work closely with designers, engineers, growth marketers and teams from Meta and Google’s ad platform teams to craft and iterate upon experiments that drive new customer acquisition.
You’ll work on fast, short cycles of delivery and build out a lot of experiments. As a guide, roughly a third of your code will still be in production one year after deploying.
The Teya website is a server-side generated React project on Framer that’s localised for seven countries and hosts an e-commerce checkout, product marketing quiz funnels for performance marketing, product pages, institutional pages, legal policies, and more. We use Amplitude for analytics, Playwright for testing, and we’re developing internal ad tooling to serve ourselves and the Growth Marketing team inside Teya Cloud in AWS.
Qualifications
We’re open to a range of experience levels are don’t have any requirements around formal training or degrees. What we care most about is finding an enthusiastic software engineer with business sense and lots of initiative. That said, here are the rough contours of our ideal candidate:
Deep knowledge of semantic HTML, modern CSS, TypeScript and React.
Comfortable integrating with REST APIs.
Enjoys ideating and prototyping design and technical improvements to our site within Framer.
Strong design and product sense. You’ll need interests and skills beyond pure software engineering so that you can take a view on the team’s agenda and convince others of your approach.
A preference for building things zero-to-one.
Works well in an environment with ambiguity and uncertainty. We’re a growing business, so we must be quick-footed with re-prioritising work and making progress despite not having all the facts we might like.
Happy collaborating and communicating regularly with non-technical stakeholders like growth marketers, product managers and executives.
Bonus: Familiarity with performance marketing concepts and metrics, sending browser signals from JS libraries, sending signals from the server via conversion APIs, and other uses of ad platform APIs like audience management.
Bonus: Knowledge of technical SEO and Core Web Vitals.
Bonus: Happy to be in the London Blackfriars office three or four days per week.
