Your Team

You will work with a diverse team to help shape the future of our engineering department. You will be part of the whole feature development lifecycle, with direct access to a wealth of customer feedback.
Your team will use technologies such as Go, Elixir, Java, TypeScript, React, Docker and AWS to write maintainable, performant and quality code. We focus on continuous deployment and iterative delivery, to ensure that our code runs reliably on the Teya infrastructure, allowing you to focus on delivering value to merchants in a fluid manner.

Your Mission

Lead a team of data scientists and engineers to build fraud detection and mitigation models deployed in a real-time decision making platform to protect merchants, their customers, and Teya from fraudulent activities. Working with advanced predictive models and scalable software systems, build and grow intelligent solutions to reduce all kinds of risk and allow Teya to focus on effectively serving our merchants. Build a diverse and innovative team that leverages the strengths and capabilities of data scientists and machine learning engineers to continuously improve and address fast-moving risks and opportunities while creating opportunities for growth and advancement at all levels. Collaborate with your peers across Teya to integrate real-time decision making wherever opportunity arises.

On a regular day as a Engineering Manager for the Fraud Prevention team, you will:

• Manage the careers and growth of a diverse team of individual contributors, both machine learning engineers and data scientists.

• Collaborate with peers across Teya to deliver world class services for small business owners in Europe, ensuring those services include fraud prevention mechanisms.

• Define and refine metrics to measure the rate of fraud, size of risks and opportunities, and performance of the team.

• Own the definition, evolution, and delivery of development projects towards meeting business and technology goals.

• Lead the design of efficient, scalable, high throughput, highly reliable cloud based software systems.

Qualifications

Your Story

• 3+ years managing teams of software developers.

• 1+ years managing data scientists, economists, or similar roles.

• Professional experience leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability, scaling) of multiple new and existing systems.

• Proven ability to document and communicate technical decisions to a diverse audience.

• Ability to solve problems in code using data structures and algorithms and be able to analyze the time and space complexity of those solutions.

• Fluent in English
