About the team
Our APAC Marketing mission is to engage priority audiences through impactful and relevant marketing campaigns and events, to drive growth in adoption of Stripe’s solution offerings across the region. Our Greater China Marketing mission is to partner closely with the Go-To-Market (GTM) organization, including Sales, Sales Development, Solutions Architects, Partnerships, and others. The team’s focus is to grow and acquire the accounts across segments that are global expanders (cross border organizations with headquarters in China), and engage with audiences at each stage of the customer lifecycle journey. What you’ll do
You’ll be part of the Greater China team and be able to set our marketing strategy for startup and platform users, as well as be hands-on, and develop a strong trusted relationship working hand-in-hand with sales teams to drive successful user outcomes. As the marketing manager, you’ll own the field marketing function for startup and platform and will set and execute a marketing strategy that delivers high-quality leads, sales pipeline, and ultimately revenue. You will be a self starter, working closely alongside Product Marketing, Sales Development, Demand Generation and Comms and other marketing specialist contractor resources.
Responsibilities
- Craft and lead the Greater China startup and platform marketing strategy, owning end-to-end field marketing programs to support early-stage, high-growth startups and platform partners across the region.
- Drive measurable impact across the full sales funnel, owning pipeline contribution, customer acquisition, expansion, and long-term engagement for the startup segment.
- Build deep, trusted partnerships with the Greater China Startup Sales, Platform Sales, SDR, and Solutions Architecture teams, working closely with sales leadership to co-develop GTM plans and accelerate pipeline creation.
- Partner closely with APAC Demand Generation and Product Marketing to refine startup-specific targeting and segmentation, and to scope, produce, and localize compelling content, narratives, and programs tailored to founders, technical decision-makers, and operators.
- Define and execute full-funnel marketing motions, including digital and content-led programs, founder communities, partner-led demand generation, sales prospecting initiatives (including ABM for scaled startups), webinars, virtual and in-person field events, and selective third-party conferences.
- Act as a strategic advisor to Chinese startups going global, translating Stripe’s platform, APIs, and ecosystem value into clear, practical narratives that resonate with local founder personas and international expansion needs.
- Track, analyze, and communicate program performance with rigor, continuously optimizing for efficiency, scale, and impact, while testing new approaches and contributing scalable best practices to the broader APAC and global startup marketing playbook.
- Bring creativity and strong market intuition to identify emerging startup trends, new founder communities, and innovative ways to position Stripe as the default financial infrastructure partner for Chinese startups building for the world.

Minimum requirements
- 8+ years of relevant B2B marketing experience, with strong focus on demand generation, field marketing, or ecosystem marketing, including 5+ years working on the Greater China market.
- Proven experience marketing to startups, scaleups, or platform businesses, particularly Chinese companies building for global or cross-border expansion.
- Demonstrated ability to design and execute regional B2B marketing strategies in China that deliver against full-funnel metrics, including pipeline creation, activation, and expansion.
- Hands-on experience with content localization, founder-focused content marketing, community programs, events, partnerships, and multi-touch campaigns to drive demand in early and growth-stage segments.
- Native or fluent Mandarin is required, as this role will engage deeply with China-based founders, technical leaders, startup ecosystems, agencies, and partners.
- Strong cross-functional leadership and collaboration skills, with a proven track record of working closely with Startup Sales, Platform Sales, SDRs, and Solutions Architecture teams through joint planning, execution, and disciplined pipeline follow-up.
- Experience operating as a regional marketing owner while partnering with central APAC Demand Generation and Product Marketing teams, effectively leveraging shared resources to scale startup programs, communities, and events.
- Experience scaling impact through agencies, startup communities, ecosystem partners, and contractors.
- Solid understanding of CRM systems, funnel reporting, and data-driven marketing execution; familiarity with ABM concepts as startups scale into mid-market and enterprise motions.
- Singapore location required, with responsibility for marketing to Greater China startups remotely.
Preferred qualifications
- Strong startup mindset with a bias to action, comfort with ambiguity, and the ability to move quickly in a fast-changing, founder-driven environment.
- Experience marketing platform, developer-centric, SaaS, cloud, or API-based products.
- Excellent program management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives across markets, partners, and internal teams simultaneously.
- Strong analytical skills and comfort translating complex performance data into clear insights and decisions.
- Resourceful, creative, and deeply committed to operational excellence and high-quality execution.
- Experience delivering localized, high-impact marketing programs for large and diverse startup audiences, with sensitivity to different stages of company maturity and global ambition.
- Understanding of the payments, fintech, SaaS, AI, or internet economy ecosystems, particularly as they relate to startups and platform business models.
- Proven success delivering programs with and through startup communities, accelerators, venture capital firms, and technology or consulting partners.
- Comfortable working remotely from China and traveling as needed to support key startup ecosystem moments, flagship events, and partner initiatives.
The annual salary range for this role in the primary location is S$159,300 - S$238,900. This range may change if you are hired in another location. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings (“OTE”) range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and specific location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the primary location may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.
