Who we are

About Stripe

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies—from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups—use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone’s reach while doing the most important work of your career.

About the team

The Platform Sales team works with B2B Software Platforms to help them facilitate payments for their customers using our Stripe Connect product. Software Platforms are software businesses that are building out payments and financial services as a product. Platforms already using Stripe include Shopify, Xero, me&u and Ignition. As a key member of the Stripe Platforms team for Australia & New Zealand, you will be responsible for the full commercial lifecycle. This includes managing and growing a book of our most valuable existing partners while also identifying and acquiring new, high-potential software platforms.

What you’ll do

As an Account Executive, you will be the engine of the Stripe Platform team's growth in New Zealand. You'll drive revenue by forging deep, strategic relationships with existing partners to expand their use of Stripe, and by creating new partnerships with the most innovative software platforms in the market.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute outbound strategies to identify, engage, and close new business opportunities with high-potential upper middle market and enterprise companies.
  • Directly manage and nurture a named portfolio of existing accounts, developing strategic account plans to secure and expand business, and ensuring long-term partner success.
  • Own the complete sales cycle from lead to close for new business, and manage complex expansion and renewal cycles within your existing customer base.
  • Build and maintain key relationships with C-level executives and key decision-makers across both prospective and existing clients.
  • Work with company leaders from multiple functions (e.g., Engineering, Product, and Finance) to lead complex product workshops and financial analyses that demonstrate the value of Stripe.
  • Contribute to shaping our platform partnership strategy and building repeatable processes for both account growth and new business acquisition.
  • Engage with Stripe’s Product and Engineering teams to provide customer feedback and help drive product strategy.
  • Lead and contribute to team projects to develop and refine our sales process and GTM strategy.

Who you are

You are an adept and versatile sales professional, skilled in both strategic account management and new business acquisition. You are capable of engaging in deep business and technical conversations at multiple levels of an organization, including the C-suite. You have a proven track record of not only landing new enterprise accounts but also of nurturing and growing an existing book of business. You have an in-depth understanding of the buyer journey and can lead a complex, multi-party sale in a highly consultative manner. You are just as excited about prospecting for new logos as you are about uncovering expansion opportunities within your existing portfolio. You enjoy building – actively participating in the development of our sales process, the articulation of our value proposition, and the creation of key tools and assets. If you’re motivated, smart, persistent, and a great teammate, we want to hear from you!

Minimum requirements

  • 8+ years of technology sales experience in a quota-carrying role, with a demonstrated track record of top performance in both new business acquisition and account management.
  • Experience directly selling a technical product or service, preferably at an API-first company.
  • A proven ability to lead complex, multi-party sales processes from inception to close, and to manage sophisticated commercial negotiations.
  • Exceptional listening skills and the ability to quickly become a trusted advisor for decision-makers across an organization.
  • An ability to understand complex technical requirements and articulate how Stripe’s solutions can address them.
  • Strong presentation skills and superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to operate with a positive attitude and tireless work ethic in a highly ambiguous and fast-paced environment.
  • A strong interest in technology and a deep understanding of the SaaS and platform ecosystem.
  • Fastidious approach to CRM hygiene and experience utilizing thorough sales forecasting metrics.

Preferred requirements

  • Experience in the payments or financial technology industry is highly preferred.

A remote location is defined as being 35 miles (56 kilometers) or more from one of our offices. While you would be welcome to come into the office for team/business meetings, on-sites, meet-ups, and events, our expectation is you would regularly work from home rather than a Stripe office. Stripe does not cover the cost of relocating to a remote location. We encourage you to apply for roles that match the location where you currently live or plan to live.

The annual salary range for this role in the primary location is NZ$292,200 - NZ$438,200. This range may change if you are hired in another location. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings (“OTE”) range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and specific location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the primary location may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.

Benefits/additional compensation for this role may include: equity, company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses; retirement plans; health benefits; and wellness stipends.
