About the team

Our Finance teams don’t just provide and process data, but own strategy, use technology to drive solutions, influence their business partners and create company value. The Finance Operations team operates in a fast-paced environment and collaborates significantly with cross-functional and international teams.

What you’ll do

In this strategic leadership role, the team leader will be pivotal in shaping and driving the next phase of Finance Operations at Stripe. By defining and evangelizing a clear vision, the leader will not only set the strategic direction but also inspire and manage a developing team of the Finance Operations leaders. The consolidation of these functions under this role include Finance Transformation, Billing and Collection, User Contract management, Payroll, and our Global Finance team located in India.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Finance-wide operational excellence programs
  • Develop and deliver the roadmap to affordably scale the accounts payable, expense reporting and supplier set up processes
  • Work with the respective business teams to launch the core services for new products and geographies
  • Assess implications of new regulatory or compliance requirements on the source-to-pay function
  • Own critical financial controls and accounting for key organizational processes including new entity creation and M&A
  • Partner with internal systems to develop world-class systems and automation which will promote user satisfaction, reduce Cost per Transaction and eliminate manual work
  • Bring strategic leadership to large, cross-company operational initiatives and promote Stripe on Stripe initiatives such as vendor payment automation
  • Nurture deep, trusted partnerships with leaders across Stripe showcasing the value of the function and how it aligns with broader business goals

Who you are

Minimum requirements

  • 15+ years of relevant experience in finance operations, accounting, business finance or related fields
  • Business partnership experience, which includes influencing executive decision-making, stewarding sound business judgment and execution, and championing a team-oriented, cross-functional mindset
  • Demonstrated success as a leader and people manager, which includes exceptional stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred qualifications

  • Work experience within the technology industry and/or within a high-growth business
  • Experience working with global and/or remote teams and successfully driving alignment and standardization across time zones
  • MBA, Master’s degree, or professional qualification in a relevant field
  • Oracle, Anaplan, or other equivalent application experience
Office-assigned Stripes spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This hits a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility about how to do this in a way that makes sense for individuals and their teams.

The annual US base salary range for this role is $250,900 - $376,300. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the US may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.
