Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone’s reach while doing the most important work of your career.

About the team

The Globalization Platform team plays a pivotal role in ensuring that Stripe products are accessible and user-friendly for customers worldwide. This team is responsible for creating and maintaining the infrastructure required to localize our products and services across various languages and cultures. By joining this team, you will contribute to providing a seamless experience for users across the globe and help expand Stripe’s global impact.

What you’ll do

As a Full Stack Engineer on the Globalization Platform team, you’ll develop frontend solutions for internationalization including tooling and libraries, directly impacting Stripe’s global expansion. You’ll shape the team’s frontend strategy, collaborate across the organization, and contribute to unlocking new markets. This role offers significant growth potential as you help drive Stripe’s mission on a global scale.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement frontend components for our globalization platform, focusing on creating an intuitive user experience for localization workflows.
  • Contribute to the maintenance and improvement of frontend libraries and components used across Stripe for globalization efforts.
  • Assist in creating frontend integration strategies, making it easier for other teams to incorporate localization features into their projects.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to implement globalization best practices in frontend development.
  • Participate in bug fixes and performance improvements for existing frontend systems related to localization and internationalization.
  • Help develop and maintain documentation for globalization tools and best practices.
  • Contribute to code reviews and collaborate with team members to maintain high code quality standards.
  • Stay informed about frontend technologies and internationalization trends, suggesting improvements when appropriate.

Who you are

We’re looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.

Minimum requirements

  • 3-5 years of frontend engineering experience, with proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Experience with modern frontend frameworks (e.g., React, Vue, Angular) and state management solutions.
  • Familiarity with building and maintaining frontend components or libraries.
  • Basic understanding of internationalization (i18n) and localization (l10n) concepts in frontend development.
  • Experience with frontend build tools, module bundlers, and package managers.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to debug frontend issues.
  • Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Preferred qualifications

  • Exposure to full-stack development, particularly with Node.js or Ruby on Rails.
  • Experience with TypeScript or other statically typed languages for frontend development.
  • Familiarity with frontend performance optimization techniques.
  • Basic understanding of web accessibility standards.
  • Experience with automated testing for frontend applications.
  • Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD concepts.
A remote location, in most cases, is defined as being 35 miles (56 kilometers) or more from one of our offices. While you would be welcome to come into the office for team/business meetings, on-sites, meet-ups, and events, our expectation is you would regularly work from home rather than a Stripe office. Stripe does not cover the cost of relocating to a remote location. We encourage you to apply for roles that match the location where you currently or plan to live.

The annual salary range for this role in the primary location is €56,000 - €84,000. This range may change if you are hired in another location. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings (“OTE”) range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and specific location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the primary location may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.

Specific benefits and details about what compensation is included in the salary range listed above will vary depending on the applicant’s location and can be discussed in more detail during the interview process. Benefits/additional compensation for this role may include: equity, company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses; retirement plans; health benefits; and wellness stipends.
