Job Summary:

The Payroll Manager will be responsible for managing the end-to-end payroll process for all U.S. employees, while also coordinating with international consultants to support global operations. This role is critical in developing and scaling payroll systems and processes to align with the company’s long-term growth strategy. As a subject matter expert in U.S. payroll compliance, the Payroll Manager will navigate increasing regulatory complexities to ensure timely, accurate, and efficient payroll execution. Reporting into the accounting organization and overseeing one payroll specialist, this individual will collaborate cross-functionally with teams across the business to drive operational excellence and maintain compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and tax requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Own end-to-end U.S. payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations

  • Identify and implement opportunities to streamline and optimize payroll processes, working cross functionally with HR, Finance and Legal teams

  • Maintain comprehensive process documentation and ensure adherence to best practices

  • Manage year-end employment tax reporting including but not limited to W2, 1099, Form 940 and 941

  • Analyze payroll data and provide regular payroll related reporting and analysis to management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for complex payroll issues

  • Oversee international payroll consultants and support global payroll coordination

  • Support payroll integration of business acquisitions

  • Provide coaching, direction and leadership to direct reports

  • Support payroll-related audits, including 401(k) and workers’ compensation

Requirements and Preferred Experience:

  • BA degree in BA, Accounting, Finance or related field is required

  • 4-6 years of payroll experience in the United States is required

  • In depth knowledge of federal, state and local employment requirements and regulations as well as multi-state payroll tax

  • Experience with Workday is required

  • 2+ years of previous payroll management or supervisory experience

  • Excellent communication skills and experience working cross-functionally

  • Proficiency using Excel/Google sheets creating complex formulas analyzing large data sets

  • Ability to multi-task and navigate through competing priorities in a high-paced environment

$130K - $150K

On target ranges above include base plus a portion of variable compensation that is earned based on company and individual performance.

The final compensation will be determined by a number of factors such as qualifications, expertise, and the candidate’s geographical location.
