Job Summary:

As a key leader within the Commercial Operations team, the Renewal Operations Team Lead will own the execution and continuous improvement of our renewal strategy. This individual will be responsible for managing end-to-end renewal operations, ensuring process consistency, and collaborating cross-functionally to drive revenue retention, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.

The ideal candidate brings prior experience in SaaS renewal strategy, a deep understanding of public sector procurement dynamics, strong leadership capabilities, and a passion for building scalable processes. This role requires a balance of tactical execution and strategic oversight, as well as the ability to lead and mentor others while driving cross-functional alignment.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead Renewal Strategy & Execution: Own and execute a comprehensive renewals playbook, ensuring scalable, repeatable processes that deliver high customer retention rates and revenue predictability.

  • Team Leadership & Mentorship: Provide day-to-day guidance to Renewal Operations Analysts and Deal Desk staff supporting renewal motions. Mentor and develop team members to strengthen renewal execution across the organization.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Sales, Customer Success, Finance, and Legal to proactively manage the renewal pipeline, including approvals, outreach strategies, pricing, and contract compliance.

  • Commercial Negotiation & Contracting: Lead pricing strategy and renewal negotiations for complex accounts. Drive timely execution of renewal agreements in compliance with company policies and procurement regulations.

  • Forecasting & Reporting: Maintain accurate renewal forecasts, flag risks early, and work with stakeholders to mitigate churn. Support reporting on renewal performance and key KPIs to leadership.

  • Process Optimization: Identify and implement process improvements, automation opportunities, and documentation standards to improve renewal velocity and efficiency.

Requirements and Preferred Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in Renewal Operations, Deal Desk, Sales Operations, or Customer Success within a high-growth SaaS environment. Public sector experience highly preferred.

  • Proven success leading renewal negotiations and cross-functional deal management with a strong understanding of SaaS pricing and contract structures.

  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities—either through direct people management or as a team/project lead within a matrixed organization.

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to manage complex deal structures and identify trends or bottlenecks.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills—comfortable navigating stakeholders at all levels, including legal, finance, and senior sales leadership.

  • Deep familiarity with Salesforce, CPQ tools, and other CRM or contract management systems.

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., PMP, Lean Six Sigma) are a plus.

$90K - $100K

On target ranges above include base plus a portion of variable compensation that is earned based on company and individual performance.

The final compensation will be determined by a number of factors such as qualifications, expertise, and the candidate’s geographical location.
