About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced International Executive Recruiter to lead searches across OpenAI’s Business organization, with a primary focus on EMEA and APAC hiring.
This is a high-impact role focused on hiring exceptional talent across international markets. You’ll partner with hiring leaders to define hiring needs, shape search strategy, understand regional talent markets, and engage candidates who can help build and scale OpenAI’s international business organization.
The ideal candidate brings strong judgment, strong partnership skills, international recruiting experience, and a deep understanding of how technology companies operate across global markets. You should be comfortable advising stakeholders, navigating regional hiring nuances, and representing OpenAI thoughtfully with senior talent across EMEA and APAC.
This role requires someone who can move fluidly between strategy and execution: understanding the business need, mapping regional talent markets, assessing candidates, and driving searches with urgency, care, and precision.
What You’ll Do
Lead senior leadership searches cross-functionally in EMEA and APAC.
Partner closely with hiring leaders to define role scope, calibrate candidate profiles, and build thoughtful search strategies aligned to regional market dynamics.
Develop deep market maps and talent insights to inform both active searches and longer-term international hiring strategy.
Build and maintain trusted relationships with business talent across the global technology ecosystem, particularly within EMEA and APAC markets.
Assess candidates across functional capability, operating style, domain expertise, values alignment, and ability to thrive in OpenAI’s environment.
Deliver a high-quality candidate experience marked by clarity, professionalism, responsiveness, and thoughtful engagement.
Partner with recruiting coordinators, recruiting operations, and cross-functional teams to ensure searches are well-run from kickoff through close.
Operate effectively in a fast-moving environment where priorities, organizational needs, and hiring strategies may evolve quickly.
What You’ll Bring
7+ years of recruiting experience, ideally within high-growth technology companies, search firms, or both.
Experience leading international executive searches across EMEA and/or APAC, with exposure to sales, partnerships, marketing, product, tech, customer success, revenue operations, or broader leadership hiring.
Ability to build credibility and trust with senior stakeholders, candidates, and cross-functional partners across regions and cultures.
Excellent communication, advisory, and stakeholder management skills.
High judgment, professionalism, and discretion when handling sensitive or strategic searches.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple complex searches simultaneously across time zones and geographies.
A proactive, resourceful approach and comfort working through ambiguity.
Nice to Have
A combination of search firm and in-house recruiting experience.
Experience partnering on leveling, compensation, and offer strategy.
Experience supporting globally distributed or rapidly scaling organizations.
Familiarity with employment markets, hiring practices, and talent landscapes across key EMEA and APAC regions.
