OpenAI is seeking an Operations & Strategy leader to drive strategic orchestration and execution across our business functions and to help scale and accelerate the commercial deployment of our technology globally. This role sits at the core of OpenAI’s commercial engine and acts as an execution force multiplier for senior leadership, ensuring we translate breakthrough AI capabilities into real world impact, customer value and scaled, durable business outcomes around the world.
They will partner with senior leaders in our COO org and will combine strategic rigor, operational excellence, and analytical depth to drive clarity, focus, and velocity across teams, while acting as a proxy to commercial leadership on critical initiatives. They will play a pivotal role in defining and driving the operational model for how we bring OpenAI’s technology to enterprises, governments, and countries around the world, scaling the frameworks and playbooks that enable us to move quickly, learn, and replicate success in diverse markets.
This role will be responsible for— functioning as the connective tissue across commercial, technical, product, and regional teams, and ensuring the organization stays aligned, resourced, and accountable against our most critical priorities. This leader will help architect the operating model for how OpenAI deploys its technology globally, including enterprise, government, and country-level partnerships. They will shape strategy, pressure test and refine plans, inform GTM and partnership models, oversee cross-functional execution, and build the systems, rhythms, and insights that enable us to move fast, learn, scale, and repeat success across markets. .
You’ll be responsible for:
Set and drive strategic priorities - work closely with senior leaders to shape priorities and ensure focus on the initiatives that most accelerate global AI deployment and adoption.
Pressure-test plans, clarify decision frameworks, and bring structure to complex strategic choices across commercial and country expansion efforts.
Orchestrate Cross-Functional Execution - Lead execution across the most important commercial and go-to-market initiatives
Build scalable operating models ensuring fast decisions, clear ownership, and persistent follow-through.
Enable global expansion and inform strategy for regional presence, on-the-ground resources, and scalable local operating models.
Prepare strategic materials, decision memos, and executive communications that drive alignment and clarity across internal and external stakeholders
Serve as a leverage multiplier for senior leadership — driving clarity, pace, and accountability. Proxy in executive forums when helpful, ensuring context is carried forward and momentum is maintained.
We’re looking for someone with:
Motivation to deliver AGI and AI-technology to the entire world, and will work relentlessly towards that goal
Track record of making stuff happen and org building and design
Track record in global commercial strategy, operations, or general management, ideally in high-growth technology or platform companies
Experience creating playbooks, frameworks, and pricing/market entry strategies
Exceptional ability to navigate complex, multi-stakeholder environments and align executives around clear, repeatable strategies
