The Infrastructure Development (InfraDev) team is central to this mission—defining core infrastructure strategy and executing on that vision. From site selection to full-scale buildout, the team operates at the intersection of commercial, technical, strategic, and operational priorities, engaging closely with stakeholders inside and outside OpenAI.

Our work spans site planning, facility design, procurement, and operations—ensuring infrastructure is delivered on time, at scale, and to the highest standards. This role will contribute directly to Stargate, OpenAI’s next-generation supercomputing platform.

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Datacenter Electrical Infrastructure Sourcing Manager to lead the end-to-end strategy, procurement, and delivery of mission-critical electrical systems for hyperscale datacenter projects.

In this role, you will:

  • Collaborate across engineering and business teams to ensure electrical systems are designed, procured, and delivered to meet technical and operational readiness requirements.

This position goes beyond traditional procurement. It is a pivotal role in enabling the deployment of the world’s most advanced supercomputing capabilities. You will shape supplier engagement strategies, structure commercial terms, and drive vendor accountability—directly influencing OpenAI’s ability to scale its infrastructure with the highest levels of safety, security, and efficiency.

You Might Thrive in This Role If You:

  • Develop and execute global sourcing strategies for datacenter electrical infrastructure.

  • Lead supplier evaluations, negotiations, and contract execution for mission-critical systems.

  • Build long-term supplier partnerships that ensure quality, cost efficiency, and schedule adherence.

  • Translate engineering requirements into sourcing specifications in collaboration with design and technical teams.

  • Ensure effective integration of electrical systems into datacenter designs from planning through commissioning.

  • Monitor supplier manufacturing, QA processes, and delivery milestones to ensure readiness.

  • 10+ years of sourcing, procurement, or project management experience in datacenter electrical systems or large-scale industrial infrastructure.

  • Demonstrated success in negotiating and managing complex, high-value contracts.

  • Strong understanding of datacenter electrical system design, redundancy strategies, and reliability requirements.

  • Experience working with global suppliers and managing projects across multiple geographies.

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related technical field; advanced degree or professional certifications preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 15+ years in hyperscale or large-scale facility infrastructure.

  • Experience delivering multi-site projects under accelerated timelines.
