The Business Development Manager will play a key role in driving Lyra’s growth in India and other regional markets. The role focuses on managing Employee Assistance Programs (EAP), wellbeing services, and Learning & Development (L&D) initiatives, with a strong emphasis on client acquisition, retention, and strategic partnerships. You will collaborate with international account managers to deliver awareness talks and support global accounts, ensuring seamless support across diverse markets.
Working Hours and Flexibility
Working Hours: 42.5 hours per week.
Schedule: 5 days a week.
Hybrid Work: Hybrid working can be considered as per the needs of the job.

Core Responsibilities

  • 1. Business Development & Sales Strategy
  • Develop and execute an effective sales strategy within India and regional markets to meet and exceed growth targets.
  • Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline, utilizing data and market trends to identify new opportunities and value-add propositions.
  • Partner with key networks (e.g., Chambers of Commerce, Industry bodies) to promote Lyra’s EAP and wellbeing services.
  • Collaborate with strategic diplomatic and trade entities (e.g., Embassies or Trade Commissions) to co-host events and programs that enhance brand visibility.
  • Utilize CRM tools to manage and forecast sales performance while ensuring meticulous data entry and pipeline management.
  • 2. Strategic Alliances & Channel Partnerships
  • Establish and manage alliances with insurance brokers, channel partners, and third-party consultants for lead generation and market distribution.
  • Support the preparation of high-impact proposals, pricing strategies, and complex solution presentations for prospective corporate clients.
  • Identify and capitalize on business opportunities in regional markets lacking local subsidiaries (e.g., SE Asia or neighboring regions) through strategic partner networks.
  • 3. Client Retention & Relationship Management
  • Oversee a portfolio of corporate clients, ensuring exceptional service delivery and maintaining high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Develop tailored awareness campaigns and collaborations with media outlets or HR platforms to drive user engagement.
  • Deliver comprehensive clinical and utilization reports that demonstrate the tangible impact and ROI of EAP and wellbeing programs to clients.
  • Work closely with international account managers to deliver awareness talks and workshops for global accounts, enhancing overall client engagement.
  • 4. Learning & Development (L&D) and Marketing
  • Promote claimable and cost-effective workshops (e.g., HRD-equivalent training) to leverage flexibility for small and medium-sized enterprises.
  • Focus on targeted mental wellbeing training through direct corporate outreach and specialized networking events.
  • Enhance Lyra’s brand image through localized digital marketing insights, showcasing client success stories via social media and targeted ads.
  • Lead efforts to increase the uptake of public workshops and learning sessions, emphasizing practical benefits for diverse business sizes.
  • 5. Regional & Global Collaboration
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify growth opportunities and execute strategies in underserved regional markets.
  • Support the expansion of global account relationships by working with international account managers on tailored programs and initiatives.
  • Actively participate in strategic planning for the rollout of services in new markets, ensuring cultural and operational alignment.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience: 5–8+ years of proven track record in business development, client relationship management, or sales, ideally within the EAP or wellbeing services sector.
  • Specialized Experience: Demonstrated ability to work with high-level organizations such as chambers of commerce, embassies, or professional HR bodies.
  • Technical Skills: Experience delivering marketing campaigns, utilizing CRM tools (Salesforce/HubSpot), and analyzing market trends.

  • Task Ownership & Accountability: Ensure all allotted business development and administrative tasks are performed with high precision and within agreed timelines.
  • Process Optimization: Proactively identify gaps in the sales-to-onboarding handoff and implement solutions that enhance client experience.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate seamlessly with Clinical, Client Success, and Product teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality care outcomes.
  • Workshop & Event Participation: Lead or support the delivery of onsite or online workshops and represent Lyra at professional HR conferences and expos.
