About the Role

As a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test at JustAnswer, you'll work on a variety of functionalities across 4 International JustAnswer sites and various international brand sites. The team tackles diverse projects weekly, initiating multiple customer experiments regularly. You'll collaborate closely with Product and UX teams to refine feature requirements and develop comprehensive testing strategies. Additionally, you'll partner with tech-ops, developers, and QA engineers to shape a robust Test Pyramid, minimizing manual testing through automation. Your role will involve driving the QA process, performing effective planning, and initiating improvements.

What You’ll Do

  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to establish automation strategies and tools that drive efficient and high-quality development and releases.
  • Identify, report, and assist engineers in resolving defects, ensuring the integrity and reliability of our product.
  • Develop, maintain, and update automated tests and associated test frameworks in partnership with development, contributing to the continuous improvement of our testing practices.
  • Conduct comprehensive testing across various components including APIs, user interfaces, web services, and web applications to ensure robustness and reliability.

What We’re Looking for

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience creating and executing tests for complex, feature-rich web applications.
  • Demonstrated expertise with functional automated testing platforms and proficiency in managing and maintaining automated testing frameworks used across teams.
  • Strong knowledge of database concepts and query languages (SQL), along with a deep understanding of various QA methodologies (black box and white box testing) and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Solid understanding of web-specific technologies and challenges, coupled with proficiency in continuous integration and continuous delivery concepts.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a proven track record of collaborating effectively across multiple groups and disciplines.
  • Experience working in agile development environments.
  • Experience testing mobile platforms will be a plus.
  • Familiarity with internationalization and website localization processes will be a plus.
  • Upper-intermediate English level.
