In this role, you will be responsible for planning and strategizing Illumio's presence in Japan, identifying and participating in tradeshows, events, webinars, and media engagements within the allocated budget.

Everyday tasks include managing the entire lifecycle of local tradeshows and events, supporting Sales Reps in building relationships with Distributors and Partners, and creating operational efficiencies for the Japan market.

To thrive in this role, you must be fluent in Japanese, have 3-5 years of B2B marketing experience, possess strong communication skills, and demonstrate the ability to build effective relationships across all levels of an organization, especially with field sales.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning and strategy for Japan with support from Marketing Director. Identify the best tradeshow and small scale events, webinars, media (content syndication) for Illumio to be involved with based on the given budget.

  • Management of local tradeshows and Illumio hosted events from creation to final output and reporting of results; inclusive of event research, pre-event and onsite logistics, attendee registration management, vendor management, and pre and post-event communications, with guidance from Marketing Director.

  • Support local Sales Reps in building relationships with Distributors and Partners. Work with local channel to build joint marketing plans targeting their end customers. Help market to Partners through enablement and recruitment activities. Manage channel portal and MDF requests.

  • Create operational efficiencies for the Japan market. Help maintain the Japan website by updating and reviewing translations; build the Japan database and increase leads and contacts using Marketo/Salesforce ensuring data collected is accurate.

  • Review translations for campaigns and outbound communications, ensuring it adheres to Illumio’s corporate messaging framework,

  • Ruthlessly track towards your project budget with an eye towards proving ROI. Ensure objectives and ROI is clear for events and PO and legal approvals are obtained before proceeding.

  • Collaborate closely and build relationships with field sales and ADR team across APAC – arranging briefings on campaigns, track event and campaign outcomes, monitor and manage leads as it moves through the funnel ensuring that it is followed up in a timely manner.

  • Internal Communication: Effectively communicate campaign and event plans to Marketing Director, stakeholders and extended team on progress, key milestones and action plans throughout the planning process. Hold project meetings and be accountable for the successful outcomes of the program.

  • Support the execution of demand generation activities across other regions in APAC as required, drive pipeline to help meet the regional marketing pipeline targets.

  • Admin – ensure all processes are followed for campaign and event management including updating event calendars, seeking approvals for final communications, uploading files to sharepoint folders, ensuring APAC merchandise inventory is up to date.

  • International travel may be required as well as attendance at early morning or evening global calls

Experience:

  • Fluent in Japanese, written and verbal at business level

  • Proficient in English written and verbal

  • Minimum 3-5 years B2B marketing experience

  • Ability to establish and build relationships across all levels of an organization; particularly with field sales, to drive business outcomes

  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal; detailed-oriented, strives for accuracy
