About the Role:

As a core member of the Benefits Onboarding Advocate team, you will be responsible for working with customers and their brokers or insurance carriers to set up their health benefits in Gusto while providing a delightful customer experience. You will guide customers through each step of the integration process, from working with insurance carriers, collecting benefit information, to building the benefit plans and enrollments in our internal systems, and potentially facilitating open enrollment at renewal.

About the Team:

The Benefits Onboarding Advocate team is passionate about using innovative technology and service to elevate the health benefits experience of small business owners, their employees, and their brokers/insurance carriers. Each team member takes ownership and makes a significant impact every day. You’ll be joining a team of other Advocates and you will also have the opportunity to partner cross functionally with a variety of other teams at Gusto, as we collaborate to enhance our onboarding process and product offerings.

Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day:

  • Provide exceptional customer service by interacting with customers and brokers/insurance carriers via email, phone, and Zoom.
  • Facilitate the onboarding, integration, and renewal process using Gusto’s internal systems and tools, by gathering and consolidating benefits information, building policies, integrating and managing enrollments, facilitating open enrollment, and ensuring that customers adhere to carrier compliance requirements.
  • Effectively manage your time across multiple customers and a variety of tasks to ensure productivity and meet deadlines consistently.
  • Collaborate across teams to collectively address issues, troubleshoot problems, and resolve customer concerns.
  • Be a knowledge partner! Research, document, and educate others on updates related to internal process, external policy, and best practices.
  • Help scale the team and product by identifying pain points and seeking innovative solutions to address them.

Here’s what we're looking for:

  • 2-4 years of customer-facing experience, bonus points for exposure to benefits or payroll experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong project management skills and attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Skilled in problem solving and very comfortable dealing with ambiguity.
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working collaboratively and autonomously - excited about striving toward team and individual metrics.
  • Passion for reducing operational inefficiencies and pain points.

Our cash compensation amount for this role is targeted at $23.56/hr - $26.44/hr in Denver. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate location, experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above.
