The role

Flutterwave is looking for a suitable candidate to fill the role of Analyst, Merchant Risk. This role will be responsible for managing AML risk and fraud risk and Credit risk.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Review of flagged Fraud and AML alerts within pre-approved timelines.
  • Escalate flagged alerts to second line of defense teams.
  • Risk identification from regular review of merchant transaction activities, KYC documents, processes and products.
  • Provide recommendation to improve Flutterwave’s fraud and AML monitoring parameters.
  • Monitor chargeback thresholds and escalate to second line of defense teams.
  • Work with data science and project teams to create or improve monitoring capabilities.
  • Prepare and circulate weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly report on fraud performance monitoring.
  • Ensure prompt responses to enquiries from internal teams on enquiries on flagged merchants and customers.
  • Ensure personal information of Flutterwave’s customers, employees, and other individuals/entities is processed and protected in line with applicable data privacy policies, laws, and global best practices.
  • Any other assigned task by line manager.

Required competency and skillset to be a waver:

  • 1-3 years of experience in financial crime monitoring, fraud monitoring and investigation, chargeback, and compliance operations.
  • Knowledge of card processing, payment fraud prevention/detection techniques, and/or On-line Fraud monitoring
  • Attention to details and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to deliver even in high-pressure, time-sensitive situations.
