About the Role
Ethos is looking for Associate Product Managers who are excited to take on complex problems and create elegant product solutions for our customers, both internal and external. Ethos product managers work with cross functional teams of engineers, designers, and data scientists to build products and features. This job description represents roles across all product areas at Ethos (Consumer, Partnerships, Underwriting, Platform, Data, and more!).
You will have the opportunity to partner with senior product managers and cross-functional teams to drive forward new product experiences and experiences. Our ideal candidate will demonstrate an interest in tackling difficult problems, the ability to break them down to their root causes, and the initiative to collaborate with others to solve them.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Understanding, defining, and building the next set of new features and products that our customers need and want
- Driving product decisions through an effective combination of research, data, and product intuition
- Breaking down features into detailed and logical pieces and converting to engineering-ready requirements
- Creating and maintaining documentation to make processes sustainable and scalable
- Collaborating with our cross functional team members to ensure alignment
- Partnering with other product managers to think through the entire customer journey
- Monitoring alerts and investigating potential product performance issues
- Ensuring a thorough QA program for all feature launches
- Get your hands dirty and drive the product development process for features from ideation to launch to impact analysis, collaborating with many teams along the way
- Hone your strategic thinking - transform large data sets into a story that helps teams make decisions
- Perform quantitative forecasting and qualitative research to identify product opportunities and prioritize your roadmap
- Design and implement A/B tests or other studies
Qualifications and Skills:
- A minimum of 6 months experience in Product management or a related function including Software Engineering, Product Analytics, Product Marketing or Product Design
- A sense of urgency and the ability to achieve impact in a fast-paced environment
- A growth mindset -- you live and breathe experimentation, data analysis, and ruthlessly focus on impact
- A demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally across teams to prioritize and build products that delight customers and deliver on company goals
- A strong analytical orientation -- a focus on data driven decision making and the ability to measure success
- A solid design and technical understanding such that you can engage with your counterparts in collaborative and productive manner
- MBA from a reputed university
- A STEM undergraduate (preferred)
- A strong attention to detail
- A deep understanding of customer needs, and strong motivation to tackle their problems
- Strong analytical skills, competence in SQL, and experience with tools for doing data analysis
- An owner’s mindset - you don’t shy away from the hard stuff
- Strong collaboration skills in team environments but able to act quickly as the decision-maker
