About the Role

Ethos is looking for a talented Associate Corporate Counsel to join our team. You will help build a world class Legal Department and will report directly to the General Counsel. A strong candidate is passionate about corporate law and building great companies, is creative at finding solutions, enjoys working hard and being challenged, wants to continuously grow and expand their skill set, and demonstrates sound judgment in ambiguous situations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • You will work on corporate law matters–both domestic and international–including governance, financings, entity management, and cap-table management.
  • Assist with a wide variety of issues, including employment law, IP matters, and handling pre-litigation matters.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • JD and admitted to at least 1 state bar
  • 2+ years of experience in a top-tier law firm’s corporate law practice group and/or in-house experience at a technology company
  • Bias to action: You are excited to help build a world class legal team, and you are able to move with purpose to achieve your client’s goals timely.
  • Detail-oriented: You are obsessed about the details. You take pride in your work and will go the extra mile to make sure our contracting process operates at the highest level.
  • Team mentality: You’re excited to work cross-functionally and to learn the operations of different departments in order to best support them.
  • Excellent communication skills: You can make complex legal concepts easily understandable and are comfortable in one-on-one meetings or presenting to large groups on legal issues.

The US national base salary range for this full-time position is $82,000 - $138,000. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
