As Director of Communications, you'll be responsible for elevating Dataminr’s overall brand awareness, including its technology innovation in AI, stellar market leadership, and position as a premier employer brand. You will make data-driven decisions and strategically plan, in concert with our PR agency, ways to bring Dataminr into the top AI, safety, trust, security, and ‘companies to watch’ conversations.

The opportunity

• Elevate Dataminr’s storytelling with rich and consistent narratives that establish our leadership and tenure in the AI space

• Manage the PR agency and effectively guide them on the most impactful ways to tell our stories, including executive thought leadership, data-driven reports/surveys, corporate momentum, and customer stories

• Work with internal stakeholders to continually identify thought leadership opportunities across Public Sector, Corporate Security, Cyber Risk and News sectors; help develop their thought leadership platforms

• Drive thought leadership using proprietary data around major industry themes to raise awareness, engage media, and position Dataminr as a de facto leader in unique trend data

• Work with the agency to continually monitor trends and opportunities for Dataminr to establish its voice and provide commentary, where relevant

• Identify top awards and speaking opportunities to elevate the company’s and executives’ brand awareness

What you bring

• 8-10 years of Communications experience at a B2B SaaS company with some cybersecurity experience

• Proven results in building brand awareness and keenly executing on thought leadership initiatives

• Experience working with data; and coming up with key data-driven narratives that most effectively tell the stories that need to be told

• Success in placing customers stories and showing company value through the eyes of its users

• Stellar written and verbal communication; comfort and executive presence in working with all levels within the company

• Crisis communications experience

• Experience integrating with content, social media, and campaign work

Colorado, New York, California, Washington only: The salary range for this position is as indicated below. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location, applicant skills, and prior relevant experience, among other factors.
Colorado: $148,500 - $169,000
New York/California/Washington: $165,000 - $187,500
