As a Director, Solutions Engineer, you will be one of the most important members of the Dataminr sales team, responsible for managing the end-to-end success of Dataminr’s sales solutions, serving as a trusted advisor to Account Executives, supporting the full GTM efforts, and our current and future customers. A key part of this role involves crafting a strategy and managing tactical execution while working closely with sales leadership to ensure strong customer engagements and delivering compelling and competitive solutions. This US-based role is ideally located within easy travel distance of our NYC based office supporting the Corporate Security business powered by the Dataminr Pulse platform.

The opportunity

  • Lead the Solutions Engineering team to ensure delivery of exceptional customer experiences with high-quality, value-based demonstrations and customer engagements that align to core use cases and drive growth.

  • Hire to scale as we continue to grow and define the process of aligning opportunities for the team’s career growth with organizational talent priorities.

  • Define ongoing processes for maintaining engagement across cross-functional teams to ensure the Solutions Engineering team is aligned to future state product roadmap and vision.

  • Developing a best-in-class Solutions Engineering team while mentoring new team members in multiple areas including sales process, and relationship management with both customers and our internal sales organization.

  • Collaborating closely with all go-to-market cross functional partners including Pre-Sales, Post-Sales, Partner and Revenue Ops to ensure Solutions Engineer’s are aligned to revenue goals with metrics and reporting.

  • Developing and enabling all Solutions Engineers to deeply understand Pulse solution design, POCs for expansion efforts, integrations, and related implementations with a cybersecurity focus.

  • Developing and delivering training and enablement presentations to peers, sales and customers success teams, and other teams within Dataminr.

  • Assist in closing strategic, large scale and/or complex sales opportunities by demonstrating a complete understanding of and resolving questions regarding Dataminr’s products.

What you bring

  • 3+ years of experience leading a team of solution engineers with at least 5 years of hands-on technical experience, either as a Solutions/Sales/Systems Engineer, Technical Account Manager, Security Engineer or senior level product support in the cybersecurity industry with large (Enterprise) clients/organizations.

  • History of conducting large-scale assessments and/or evaluations, including managing expectations, deliverables, and complex systems as well as the teams that support them.

  • Experience in Enterprise or Cloud Security, including cloud/SaaS platforms, data/information protection, network, endpoint, NOC/SOC, or MSP-related cybersecurity.

  • Comfortable presenting to individuals and/or teams including technical staff through C-suite.

  • CISSP or other relevant cyber-security and/or cloud security certifications are valued.

Colorado, New York, California, Washington only: The salary range for this position is as indicated below. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location, applicant skills, and prior relevant experience, among other factors.

Please note this salary range does not include any potential bonus or commissions tied to this role and is related to the fixed salary only.

Colorado: $157,500-175,500

New York/California/Washington: $175,000 - $195,000
