The Role

We are looking for an experienced lawyer based in Lithuania, fluent in English, with expertise in the SaaS/technology industry, to join our commercial legal team as Commercial Counsel. This is an exciting opportunity to join our global legal team and have a direct role in driving growth to help us build a world where communicating with a business is as easy and natural as talking to a friend.

This role will require you to negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts (customer and partners) of varying complexity and may involve extensive collaboration with members of sales, finance, marketing, operations, product and security teams. You will be responsible for reporting to and managing key commercial stakeholder relationships in our global business.

The position will be based in Lithuania and report to the Deputy General Counsel (located in EMEA). This role will suit an experienced commercial and technology lawyer who is happy to work in a fast-paced technology business in collaboration with US and EMEA teams.

What you’ll do:

  • Negotiate a wide range of US/EU commercial transactions, from sales agreements, partnership deals, vendor and procurement agreements and everything in between.

  • Advise internal stakeholders regarding key issues and risks in our commercial contracts and ensure that our agreements reflect our high internal standards and guidelines.

  • Review and negotiate our third party vendor agreements as part of our procurement process.

  • Actively shape and support the development of our commercial legal strategy to support our global product offerings, sales and procurement strategy.

  • Engage with internal business clients to develop and enhance a streamlined, efficient, and scalable contracting process.

  • Proactively provide training and ongoing support to internal teams on sales, procurement and contractual matters, including developing internal playbooks and training.

  • Tackle anything else in the commercial and technology field that gets thrown your way as needed to support a fast-growing, dynamic, and innovative global company.

  • You will be required to have flexibility and overlap in your working hours to accommodate meetings across EMEA and some US time zones.

What you’ll bring:

  • Law degree and professional qualification with ability to practise in English in the EU or US.

  • 4-6 years commercial/technology experience in an in-house technology environment or combined with practice in a top law firm, with particular focus negotiating customer and partnership agreements. Prior background with an international technology/SaaS company is beneficial.

  • Excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills with the ability to manage and foster key stakeholder relationships and collaborate with teams across the business.

  • An understanding and appreciation of privacy, data protection, information security and related issues - with demonstrated ability to negotiate agreements on these issues.

  • Razor sharp organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and quarterly sales deadlines.

  • A start-up mentality - a willingness to roll up your sleeves, clear blockers, think creatively, prioritize effectively, support the business and get the job done.

  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills in English.
