Who We Are
At Apartment List, we’re transforming how people rent—making it smarter, easier, and a lot less frustrating. Our platform has already matched over 1.4 million renters with their next home, while helping properties fill units with the right residents. Backed by strong growth and a big vision, we’re building the future of renting—and inviting bold thinkers to help us shape it!
About the Role
Apartment List is hiring an Associate Account Executive to own and close net new business within an assigned territory. This is a full-cycle closing role — not a meeting-setter position.
We're growing fast, and this role is designed for you to grow with us. You'll come in with real responsibility, get structured coaching from day one, and have opportunities to develop your career alongside a company that's building something big. If you're a top-performing BDR or SDR ready to own a full deal cycle, this is where that happens.
This fully remote role requires occasional (up to 20%) travel within your assigned territory.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and own your territory pipeline through high-volume outbound calling and emailing — this is a high-activity, phone-first role.
- Run full-cycle deals remotely: prospecting, discovery calls, virtual pitches, objection handling, negotiation, and closing.
- Build relationships with marketing directors, regional property managers, and key decision-makers at target accounts through consistent outbound touchpoints.
- Educate partners on the Apartment List platform, including A-List Market, A-List Nurture, and our AI leasing solutions via virtual demos and calls.
- Maintain clean pipeline hygiene and accurate forecasting in Salesforce, Gong, and other sales tools –your activity and pipeline data drive your day.
- Assist with account implementation immediately after close to ensure a successful go-live.
What We're Looking For
- 1-2+ years of sales experience with demonstrated closing ability — BDR/SDR background in a high-volume, phone-based environment with closing exposure strongly preferred.
- Hunger and coachability — you want feedback, you apply it, and you put in the reps.
- Strong communication skills — you can run discovery, articulate value, and handle objections with or without in-person cues.
- A systematic approach — you track activity, follow a process, and don't let deals go dark.
- Energized by a high-volume phone environment — you treat call volume as momentum, not a grind.
- Competitive, proactive, self-motivated — you treat your territory like a business.
- Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM tools a plus. Multifamily/proptech experience is a bonus, not a requirement.
Compensation
OTE: $100,000 - $125,000 (50/50 split, uncapped commissions) + equity.
- Hit the ground running: We know it takes time to build pipeline. That's why we provide a full 3-month ramp guarantee, so you can focus on building momentum from day one.
- Consistent earnings: Enjoy a quarterly variable structure that includes a guaranteed monthly draw equal to 50% of your target variable, providing predictable income while you build and close your pipeline.
We consider role scope, level, geographic location, and relevant experience when determining compensation. We're always looking for exceptional talent and happy to discuss specifics during the hiring process.
This is a fully remote position within the US, with regional travel as noted above.
Here's what's in it for you (full-time US based employees only; does not apply to contract roles):
- Competitive Compensation: Including annual salary, pre-IPO stock options, and other financial compensation (if applicable)
- Medical, Dental, and Vision Coverage: 100% of premiums covered for you AND all of your dependents
- Unlimited Flexible Time Off: Unlimited FTO in addition to 12 company holidays per year, quarterly “recharge” days, and a week-long holiday break
- Home Office Reimbursement: To cover home office furniture and supplies, monthly home internet, and monthly cell phone (if applicable)
- Health & Wellness Reimbursement: To cover monthly gym membership or other qualifying expenses
- Parental Support: Generous parental and family leave, fertility benefits, and employer-sponsored stipends towards family forming services
- 401k Plan: To support you in your individual retirement goals
- Team Events: Frequent team-building events, fun team off-sites, and bi-annual company meetups
- Commitment to DEI: To prioritize Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion within our workplace and to stay true to our values and mission
- Mentorship and Training: To get you onboard quickly, learn new professional skills, and invest in your career development
- Impact and Visibility: To expose you to and provide the opportunity to work on highly strategic initiatives that will transform the business
- Encouragement and Empowerment: To explore and adopt new technologies and drive meaningful decisions and outcomes
