The SVP of Product will own the strategy and execution across our three core product pillars — Renter, Marketplace, and Lister, and lead the Product and Design organizations. This executive will serve as the unifying product voice across the company and a key strategic partner to the CEO.
Success in this role hinges on deep cross-functional alignment, particularly with Marketing, Growth, Engineering, Sales and Finance


Responsibilities and Expectations

  • Define and drive the product vision, strategy, and roadmap across all core pillars.
  • Lead the Product and Design organizations, including VP- and Director-level leaders.
  • Raise the bar on product quality, velocity, and strategic clarity across the organization.
  • Establish clear OKRs across product portfolios and ensure prioritization aligns to business goals — driving measurable impact in growth, engagement, and monetization.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Growth, Marketing, GTM and Finance to drive execution.
  • Champion AI-first thinking — identify high-leverage use cases to integrate AI across the user journey and internal workflows, while guiding ethical, scalable implementation.
  • Champion a culture of user empathy, experimentation, and data-informed decision making
  • Scale the organization through thoughtful organization design, hiring, and leadership development.
  • Operate as a key advisor to the CEO on product direction, prioritization, and long-term bets.


Core Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in product management, including 5+ years managing senior product leaders (VPs, Directors); ideally across consumer technology or marketplace products.
  • Proven track record of shipping impactful, user-facing products that drive engagement, conversion, and retention.
  • Strong understanding of modern software development practices and AI technologies, with deep expertise in product development and experimentation frameworks, including A/B testing, multivariate experiments, personalization and recommender systems, and rapid iterative testing.
  • Strong business judgment and strategic thinking — able to connect product choices to company-level goals and P&L.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; can synthesize complexity and influence cross-functional decisions.
  • Proven ability to scale product organizations, including hiring, coaching, and developing senior product, design and data leaders.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through influence across Engineering, Growth, Marketing, GTM, and Data.
  • Passion for solving complex marketplace problems
  • Executive presence with a bias for clarity, humility, and velocity — thrives in high-performance, high-accountability environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, HCI, Mathematics, or a related technical field; advanced degree preferred but not required.
Here's the Pay Range:
At Apartment List, we carefully consider a variety of factors to determine compensation for each position, including the role, level, and work. The US base salary range for this position is:
  • $294,000 - $380,000 TTC (including $250,000 - $323,000 base salary) + equity
This reflects the compensation target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Please note, the compensation details provided do not include benefits and perks that we offer.
We also rely on market indicators along with considering your work location, job related skills, experience and relevant education and training, to determine compensation that is fair and competitive for you. Apartment List will consider paying compensation near the higher of the range in exceptional circumstances, where candidates have the experience, credentials or expertise that would warrant such consideration. It is always our goal to hire exceptional talent and we would be happy to share more about compensation during the hiring process.
