Apartment List is revolutionizing multifamily leasing with our SMART Platform—the industry's only solution combining AI-powered tools with a unique pay-per-lease business model that aligns our success directly with leasing results. We're looking for a product marketing leader who can showcase how our integrated solutions create exponential value. You'll work at the intersection of platform strategy and market adoption, helping customers understand how our ecosystem drives better outcomes.
Reporting to the VP of Marketing, you'll collaborate across sales, growth, marketing, and product teams to build the go-to-market engine that powers our next growth phase. This high-impact role demands both strategic vision and execution excellence.
What you’ll do:
- Champion the voice of the customer: Conduct research to understand operators across segments—translating insights into compelling positioning
- Drive alignment across teams: Ensure consistent messaging and priorities between sales, product, salesops, and strategy teams
- Drive product adoption & revenue growth: Develop go-to-market strategies that accelerate acquisition, conversion, and retention
- Shape our market positioning: Craft narratives that showcase how our integrated solutions deliver greater value than the sum of their parts
- Create high-impact sales enablement assets, including:
- Strategic pitch decks tailored to different customer segments and their unique pain points
- Product demos customized for various use cases
- Objection handling guides that address competitive pressures
- Detailed Q&A documents
- Build our B2B PMM function: Establish product marketing as a strategic capability within Apartment List, creating scalable processes that can grow with our business
- Monitor the competitive landscape: Track industry shifts, proptech trends, and AI innovations to ensure our positioning stays ahead of the curve
You're a fit if:
- You've spent 7+ years in B2B product marketing, with significant experience marketing platforms or solution portfolios
- You have a strategic understanding of how different assets influence various stages of the B2B buying journey
- You create compelling sales materials that actually drive conversion
- You excel at building strong collaborative relationships, particularly with sales, product, and strategy teams
- You've successfully launched and positioned platform capabilities that drove adoption across multiple product lines
- You understand how to message the strategic value of integrated solutions versus point products
- You have experience with AI/ML technologies and can translate complex technical capabilities into business outcomes (major plus!)
- You've worked in or marketed solutions for marketplaces, understanding the unique dynamics of multi-sided platforms (highly desired)
- You can effectively translate between technical product teams and customer-facing sales teams
- You have experience being an early or founding product marketing hire and know how to demonstrate the strategic value of product marketing to the broader organization
Why this role matters:
As we expand from an ad channel to an integrated ecosystem, we need someone who can strategically map content to customer segments and buying stages. Your expertise in creating the right assets for the right audiences at the right time will directly impact pipeline velocity and conversion rates.
This role sits at a critical intersection of our business. You'll work closely with sales, product, salesops and strategy teams to ensure we're effectively communicating the value of our solutions. Without strong product marketing leadership in this position, we risk misalignment between what we build and what the market needs, or between our value proposition and how our sales team articulates it.
As we build our product marketing function, you'll be pioneering our B2B product marketing efforts alongside one team member who focuses on our consumer-facing initiatives. This is a rare opportunity to shape our product marketing strategy and establish best practices that will scale.
